Counseling NW

Matthew R. Evich, MA, LMHC

About Me

I have deep roots in the Pacific Northwest: My maternal grandfather logged local forests, and my paternal grandfather commercially fished salmon in northern Puget Sound; I spent numerous summers working on the fishing boat that was in my family for three generations.

As a former Everett public school teacher for over 30 years, and as a licensed mental health therapist for over fifteen years, I gained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults.

After receiving my counseling degree, I expanded my education by taking marriage and family courses through Chapman University College at the Whidbey Naval Air Station.

I specialize in treating children using the highly effective method of Play Therapy, and studied under the world's leading therapists at the Play Therapy Training Institute in New Jersey.

My background also includes intensive training in filial therapy, a highly effective method aimed at improving the parent-child relationship.

In addition, I also completed training as an EMDR therapist.

I am a State of Washington Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH60080464)
